A teacher in the UK sentenced to 6.5 years for relationships with students.
According to ТСН: In the UK, a former mathematics teacher who had romantic relationships with two students and gave birth to a child from one of them has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
31-year-old Rebecca Joynes was found guilty of six counts of sexual activity with minors. The court has banned her from teaching even after her release from prison.
The woman seduced a 15-year-old boy by gifting him a 700-dollar Gucci belt. After that, they had two sexual encounters at her apartment.
She also had intimate relations with a 16-year-old young man approximately 30 times, which led to the birth of a child.
Joynes gave birth to the child in early 2024, but it was taken from her just 24 hours later. The young father expressed his concern, noting that 'one of the hardest things' was that he received no information about the child.
In court, the young father stated that he is a victim of sexual abuse by the teacher. He claimed that he was 'forced, controlled, manipulated, sexually and psychologically violently abused,’ adding: 'I will forever be a victim of Rebecca and will forever be connected to her through our child.'
It was previously reported that the teacher had sexual relations with three 11th-grade students while her husband was serving in the army.
This case has sparked significant public resonance, highlighting serious issues of justice and minor protection. It also raises questions about ethical behavior of educators and responsibility in relationships with students. The sentence handed to Joynes aims to demonstrate the seriousness of crimes related to sexual violence against youth.
