The United Kingdom Prepares Troops for Deployment in Ukraine: Details of the Plan.
According to ТСН: The United Kingdom is ramping up preparations for a possible deployment of military contingents to Ukraine to support the upcoming peace process. The Ministry of Defence is already working on deployment plans and has begun procuring necessary equipment.
Readiness for the 'Day of Calm'
British officials believe that the real prospect of a ceasefire is currently higher than ever before. In this regard, Defence Secretary John Healey emphasized the heightened combat readiness of the military.
'I am directing funding to prepare our forces so that we are ready for deployment when peace comes — with troops on the ground and aircraft in the air,' Healey stressed during a meeting in the 'Ramstein' format.
According to the minister, the role of British forces will be to deter possible Russian attacks following the signing of peace agreements.
Planning and Logistics Details
Reports state that the British Ministry of Defence is examining the 'notification of movement' process, which defines the timeframe within which a unit must be ready for deployment. Plans are also being developed regarding deployment locations and troop movements.
'The process of accelerating expenditures on equipment to ensure the safety of troops, known as force protection, is beginning. The necessary equipment will depend on the role of the forces as defined in any peace agreement and may vary from drone technology to electronic warfare equipment, vehicles, and body armor,' the publication reports.
It is also noted that if NATO's presence in Ukraine becomes an obstacle for Putin in peace negotiations, groups may be deployed in allied countries such as Poland, with the possibility of quick intervention in Ukraine. The exact number of British units and their personnel remains confidential, but the United Kingdom has a number of military assets that are always on high readiness for deployment.
Sources also indicate that in the event of a quick signing of an agreement, the 16th Air Assault Brigade (Global Response Force), based in Colchester and specializing in rapid response to crisis situations, may be the first to be involved. If time allows, command plans to prepare other units for reserve.
Insiders report that the 'Coalition of Willing' countries has long been working on these plans, and preparations are accelerating due to the real possibility of a cessation of hostilities.
The President of Ukraine noted that the 'coalition of willing' from over 30 countries is ready to provide security guarantees for Ukraine after a ceasefire, involving units on the ground, in the air, and at sea.
Earlier, information appeared that the USA is ready to provide Ukraine security guarantees based on NATO Article 5, which, according to media reports, will be approved by Congress and will have legal force.
This activation of preparations is driven by the increasing likelihood of peace agreements, fostering hopes for a final resolution of the conflict. Cooperation among international partners, including Britain, could become an important factor in ensuring stability in the region. Overall, the situation remains tense, and all parties are hopeful for a swift restoration of peace.
