According to TSN.ua: A powerful explosion caused by a gas-air mixture has killed two people in a residential district of Kharkiv. The blast occurred on the fifth floor of a sixteen-story apartment building in the Saltivka neighborhood, partially destroying the flooring between the fourth and sixth levels. Such incidents highlight the ongoing challenges with aging infrastructure in some post-Soviet urban areas.
The victims have been identified as a man born in 1999 and a woman born in 1991. Investigative authorities have entered the case into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 270 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which deals with violations of safety rules. An investigation into the precise circumstances is currently underway.
