Expert Forecasts at Least One More Year of Power Outages in Ukraine.
The State of Ukraine's Power Supply
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainians should prepare for power outages to continue for at least another year, according to a forecast by Viktoriia Voitsitska, a member of the supervisory board of the analytical center We Build Ukraine. She stated that the duration depends on the restoration of damaged infrastructure and the actions of the enemy, making a long-term schedule for electricity supply a necessity. This grim outlook underscores the severe and ongoing impact of Russia's targeted attacks on Ukraine's energy grid.
Temporary Outage Schedules Implemented
In response to the critical situation within the energy system, temporary power outage schedules were introduced in Kyiv on January 29. The company DTEK explained that, despite a severe electricity deficit in the capital, energy workers managed to implement schedules based on the available supply. The nation's energy infrastructure has suffered massive damage, requiring extensive time and effort to repair.
Consequently, citizens must be ready for prolonged restrictions in electricity supply as the recovery of Ukraine's energy infrastructure will be a lengthy process.
This situation highlights the profound difficulties Ukraine faces during wartime, including the destruction of energy facilities, which complicates the normalization of life for its citizens.

The introduced blackout schedules are part of the effort to manage scarce resources, requiring the population to adapt to new conditions. It is crucial for people to stay informed about changes in the power supply and be prepared for extended periods without electricity while restoration efforts for the energy system continue.
