The blessing of water in churches is performed in two stages:
On January 5, on the eve of Water Day – after the morning or evening service;
On January 6, on the day of the holiday – after the festive liturgy.
The church believes that the water blessed on either of these days has the same spiritual power. Therefore, everyone can choose the most convenient time for their church visit. In some cities and villages, open waters are also blessed, where one can draw holy water.
The water blessed on Water Day has great spiritual significance for many Ukrainians. This holiday symbolizes purity and restoration, which is why many rituals and gatherings in churches traditionally take place on this day. The city administration and the churches urge everyone to adhere to all safety measures, ensuring that the celebration is safe and joyful for all. Remember that it is always important to protect yourself and others during holidays.Read also
