Wolf and Fox in Kyiv Apartment: Police Opened a Criminal Case.
According to ТСН: In Kyiv, a woman from Obolon kept a fox and a wolf at home, leading to a criminal proceeding for animal cruelty.
Kyiv police reported this situation.
The law enforcement learned about the case from social media, where animal rights activists posted a video showing the wolf being seized after it bit the 55-year-old apartment owner.
The police have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman’s apartment also contained the corpse of a fox.
Both animals were purchased online and kept in improper conditions. A pre-trial investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the case.
The authorities plan to contact the relevant services to address the issue of the further keeping of other animals remaining in the apartment.
Aggression and Past Cases
It is worth reminding that in a high-rise building in Obolon, a wolf attacked its owner, inflicting serious injuries. The animal lived in unsanitary conditions for a long time, which caused a surge of aggression.
At the Wild Animals Rescue Center, it was reported that this woman had previously kept wild animals. Seven years ago, she had two wolves named Arman and Malish seized from her, which were rehabilitated and transferred to appropriate conditions abroad. After that, the woman purchased a wolf again on the animal-planet website and is now facing the consequences of this decision.
This case has raised widespread public resonance and highlighted the importance of monitoring the keeping of wild animals in domestic conditions. Law enforcement continues to actively work on the case, while animal rights activists emphasize the need for measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
