Female Inmates Now Flying Drones: 'Chornyi' Instructor on Ukraine’s New Mobilization Strategy.
Mobilizing Convicted Women for Ukraine’s Armed Forces
According to TSN.ua: An assault battalion instructor using the call sign 'Chornyi' has revealed that convicted women are being mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine to serve as drone pilots on the front lines. According to the instructor, these women are volunteering eagerly for combat roles, and his unit has formed an entire company of female ex-inmates who now operate drones.
Among them are girls as young as 19, who ended up in prison for a variety of reasons—some tied to romantic relationships, others to drug offenses.
We’ve also recruited from the convict population. From the female convicts, we formed a company that now serves as our pilots. — Instructor 'Chornyi'
