According to TSN.ua: An assault battalion instructor using the call sign 'Chornyi' has revealed that individuals convicted of murder may be permitted to serve with Ukraine’s Armed Forces. According to the instructor, such recruits can join if they receive approval from the Department of Justice.

“It’s possible. If the Department of Justice clears them, it’s possible. We accept those with Article 115 convictions.”

Notably, the battalion refuses to accept individuals convicted of sexual violence or pedophilia. 'Chornyi' emphasized that these categories of offenders are not recruited. The battalion is currently actively seeking new fighters, reflecting ongoing efforts amid the country’s current circumstances.

This development highlights a shift in Ukraine’s military recruitment strategies during wartime, where personnel shortages may drive more flexible policies. It is important to note that such decisions require rigorous oversight from state authorities to maintain security and uphold ethical standards. Given the situation in the country, monitoring the progress of this initiative and its impact on the military structure will be crucial.
