According to inkorr.com: On August 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova traveled from Kyiv to the village of Markhalivka in Kyiv Oblast, where the grand opening of the National Military Memorial Cemetery took place, reports 'Hlavkom'.
Interfax-Ukraine correspondent Iegor Shumikhin published a photo where Zelensky is boarding a bus with the caption 'Imagine the situation: you are riding on a bus, and then he enters! Your actions?'
Network users actively discussed this situation. Some suggested asking the president about elections, while others joked about the fare payment.
Opening of the memorial and tour
During the visit, Zelensky and Kalmykova participated in a tour conducted by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, Hennadiy Popenko. They learned about new Ukrainian traditions related to the establishment of the military memorial cemetery.
It should be noted that on the Day of Remembrance for Defenders of Ukraine, an official opening of this memorial took place, which Zelensky also attended. During the ceremony, the first five unknown defenders were buried, and prayers from chaplains of different denominations sounded over the coffins.
The president's and minister's trip to the memorial marked an important stage that emphasized the significance of remembering the defenders of Ukraine and the military events in its history. The opening of the memorial was accompanied by a tour that allowed the leadership to better understand the traditions and features of this important place.
