According to TSN.ua: Ukraine’s General Staff has reported heavy losses for Russian forces. Russia’s cumulative battlefield losses now stand at approximately 1,282,570, with 1,710 of those recorded in just the past 24 hours. For context, this daily toll reflects sustained offensive pressure as the war enters its fourth year.

Equipment Losses

Russian military hardware has also suffered significant attrition. As of March 18, Moscow’s forces have lost:

  • 11,786 tanks (+3)
  • 24,229 armored fighting vehicles (+11)
  • 38,506 artillery systems (+29)

No losses were recorded during this period for multiple rocket launchers, air defense systems, aircraft, or helicopters. However, the number of tactical-level drones decreased by 1,189, bringing the total to 184,333 units.

In 2025, Russian troop losses exceeded mobilization rates for the first time, signaling severe manpower challenges. According to Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, while Moscow mobilized 406,000 personnel, it lost roughly 418,000 killed and wounded during the same period.

These statistics confirm that the conflict in Ukraine remains in an active phase, with the Russian military encountering mounting obstacles. The growing casualty count and equipment losses could reshape the strategic calculus for both sides, especially as Moscow struggles to replace its losses faster than they occur.
