According to ТСН: December 29, 2025, is a Monday. It marks the 1404th day of war in Ukraine.

What Holiday is Tomorrow

On December 29, believers celebrate the Day of Commemoration of the Holy Innocents, as described in the Gospel of Matthew (2:16–18). After learning from the Magi about the birth of the 'King of the Jews', King Herod the Great, filled with fear of losing power, ordered the murder of all boys under the age of two in Bethlehem and its vicinity. These children did not know Christ and did not consciously profess Him, but fell victim to hatred of the Messiah. Therefore, the Church recognizes them as martyrs, even without conscious faith.

On December 29, Ukraine also celebrates The Day of Information and Media Structures of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces. This date was chosen to honor the establishment of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 1991 and the appointment of the first military press secretary of independent Ukraine. It is considered that on this day the formation of information structures began in the military department. The holiday was established by an order from the Ministry of Defense on December 27, 2010, No. 698 and is celebrated annually.

Additionally, December 29 is celebrated as International Cello Day. This date was chosen to honor the birthday of Pablo Casals (1876–1973) — a prominent Spanish cellist, composer, and humanist who elevated the cello to the level of a solo, deeply philosophical instrument. The cello is one of the most expressive instruments in the string family, and its timbre is often compared to the human voice.

Moreover, December 29 is recognized as International Jewish Book Day. This holiday originated in the USA in the 1920s during Jewish Book Week, aimed at promoting reading, Jewish literature, and education within the community. Over time, this initiative gained international significance, transforming into International Jewish Book Day.

These holidays highlight the diversity of cultural and historical events celebrated in different parts of the world. From the Day of Commemoration of the Holy Innocents to Cello Day celebrations, all these dates remind us of the value of memory, culture, and art. In Ukraine, despite challenging times, it is important to preserve traditions and celebrate significant moments of our history and culture.
