According to ТСН: The Odesa region has been experiencing almost complete blackouts for the third day due to massive attacks on the region's energy infrastructure. According to the military administration, the enemy fired more than 300 air assault means in one and a half days. The region is left without electricity, water, heating, and in some places - even without communication. The work of emergency teams is complicated by constant air raid alerts.

However, energy workers managed to achieve the first positive results.

The correspondent reports on the current situation in the city.

Water has returned, the hum of generators does not subside

In Odesa, the hum of generators continues, but there are also good news:

  • Water has returned to homes: the energy workers managed to restore supply to critical infrastructure.

  • Education: Most schools planned to resume classes, but the prolonged morning alarm from seven to ten left many students at home. Kindergartens are operating in a shift mode.

  • Transportation: Trams and trolleybuses are not running; only buses are moving in the city, and carriers promise to increase their number on routes.

Local residents are reacting to the situation with understanding:

“People understand the situation, we hope that in a few days, the situation will improve,” noted one of the interviewed passengers.

Problems on the roads and queues for charging

The movement of cars remains tense, although electric cars have almost disappeared from the roads. One of the main problems is the operation of traffic lights:

  • Traffic lights do not work everywhere — only those powered by batteries or generators.

  • This complicates traffic, especially at night, as street lighting is absent.

However, there is no excitement around drinking water, queues near pumping stations are small. However, crowds of people can be observed near device charging points:

“Very poorly charged, because a lot of everyone... we don’t know when we will leave here... I charge all power banks, phones... Like everyone, we walk in half-darkness, thank God, there is a roof over our heads, and there is water, and there is heat,” said one of the locals.

Communication in the city

Communication and the internet remain unstable and unavailable in all areas. The correspondent noted that at night and in the morning near her house, air raid alerts were not heard due to the de-energization of the sirens.

Due to the prolonged blackout, residents faced the problem of spoiled products. In chats, they share recipes on how to save what can still be prepared. The hardest for those living in electrohouses, where only electric stoves are installed: it is difficult for them to prepare hot dishes. In addition, elevators do not work in high-rise buildings.

When asked when the light will return, energy workers currently respond that it is unknown, as shelling does not stop.

The prolonged situation in Odesa region indicates instability in the region's energy infrastructure, complicating the daily life of local residents. Emergency services are trying to restore power supply, but safety remains a priority. At the same time, residents show understanding and support for each other in difficult times.
