Russian strike near Odesa paralyzed movement to the border: which checkpoints are closed.
According to ТСН: In the Odesa region, traffic on the Odesa–Reni highway has been temporarily halted due to a Russian strike on an infrastructure facility near the village of Maiaky. This has complicated access to various border checkpoints.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Traffic restrictions have affected transport connections in the directions of the following border checkpoints:
- "Palanka – Maiaky – Udobne"
- "Reni – Djurdzhuleshti"
- "Tabaky – Murne"
- "Vynogradivka – Vulcaneshti"
- "Starokozache – Tudora"
- "New Troyany – Chadir Lunga"
- "Orlivka – Isakcha"
- "Dolynske"
- "Zaliznychne"
- "Lisne"
- "Serpneve"
- "Maloyaroslavets"
Citizens entering Ukraine in the direction of Odesa are being warned about the restrictions and redirected to alternative routes. Collaboration with the border police of the Republic of Moldova has been intensified for operational response.
Drivers are advised, if possible, to choose the border checkpoints in the Vinnytsia region, as well as "Mamaliga" and "Sokyryany" in the Chernivtsi region. The "Mohyliv-Podilskyi" checkpoint on the border with Moldova has already observed an increase in traffic flow, however, the passage of persons and vehicles continues with the involvement of additional units.
It is reminded that earlier it was reported that due to the Russian attack on Odesa on the night of December 19, residents of one of the largest residential areas were left without electricity, water, and heating.
The situation with traffic restrictions in Odesa region threatens uninterrupted access to important border checkpoints, which may complicate the movement of people and goods in the region. Authorities urge drivers and passengers to be attentive and follow the recommendations of border guards.
