From 2026, veterans will receive new free medical services.
According to ТСН: Starting in 2026, new free medical services for veterans will be introduced in Ukraine. Among them are long-term medical care and assistance with correcting scar changes in the skin after injuries and burns.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that there is a program for free dental treatment and prosthetics for military personnel in the country. This year, nearly 94,000 patients have benefited from this service.
“Dental services can be received from initial examination and treatment of cavities to complex prosthetics. The state must take care of restoring dental health after the harsh conditions of service or return from captivity,” Svyrydenko's statement says.
The services can be accessed regardless of the place of residence or registration at healthcare institutions that have a contract with the National Health Service. Currently, the service is already provided by about 500 medical institutions across Ukraine.
Expansion of Medical Services
The government continues to expand the range of medical services for veterans, including:
the extended primary medical care program;
psychological support and assistance;
rehabilitation outside Ukraine;
ophthalmological assistance.
“New initiatives will also come into effect from the new year: long-term medical care and services for correcting scar changes in the skin after injuries and burns,” the Prime Minister announced.
In addition, starting January 1, 2026, the Ministry of Health will launch the “Health Screening 40+” program, for which 10 billion UAH has been allocated. Citizens over 40 will receive invitations in “Diia” and 2000 UAH on a special card for heart, type 2 diabetes, and mental health screenings. The funds can be used at state or private clinics certified by NSZU.
These new initiatives have become an important step towards improving medical services for veterans, demonstrating the state's attention to their needs. Thanks to the free medical care and dental services, veterans will be able to receive the necessary assistance without additional costs. The “Health Screening 40+” program also emphasizes efforts for prevention and improving the quality of life for older citizens.
