Russia is once again fabricating footage about Kupyansk: what is really happening on the front

According to ТСН: Russian propagandists are once again trying to present footage from another location as evidence of control over Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.

The video they released was actually filmed on the southwestern outskirts of Tavilzhanka, just 20 km from the city. This inaccuracy was noticed by a user @Bielitzling on the social network X, who also pointed out that this footage is being presented as Beach Lane in Kupyansk. This indicates the breadth of disinformation.

“Funny fact #2, but the analysts from America praised by our general somehow ‘geolocated this as Kupyansk,’ which additionally raises questions about the quality of their study of Telegram. As the Great Kobzar said – learn from others, but do not shy away from your own,”

The Kremlin reports to Putin again about the 'capture'

Russian President Vladimir Putin received another report from Defense Minister Andriy Belousov about the supposed control over Kupyansk during an expanded meeting of the Ministry of Defense. According to him, the ‘West’ group allegedly occupied the settlement, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ‘unsuccessfully trying to regain control over it’.

Belousov also claimed that the occupiers surrounded the Ukrainian units on the left bank of the Oskil River, which, according to him, will expand the so-called ‘security zone’ in the Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian counteroffensive continues

In fact, Ukrainian forces continue the operation to liberate Kupyansk. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskiy, reported at the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group ‘Ramstein’ that the Defense Forces managed to push back the occupiers and take control of nearly 90% of the city.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian units are holding the defense, regaining control over 16 km² in the northern part of Pokrovsk, as well as 56 km² in the areas of the settlements Gryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udashne in the western part of the city.

According to Syrskiy, despite the efforts of the Russian occupiers, the counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine effectively hold back the enemy and prevent them from establishing control over the city.

Thus, the situation in Kupyansk remains tense. Ukrainian forces continue the fight for control over the city, regardless of informational attacks from Russian sources. This fact underscores the importance of verifying information, as disinformation can significantly affect the perception of events on the front.
