Grenade explosion in Kyiv hostel: conflict between residents nearly turned into tragedy.
According to ТСН: On the night of January 9, an explosion occurred in a hostel on Zhylyanska Street in Kyiv, resulting from a conflict between two residents. According to police, the men had recently arrived in the capital and were consuming alcohol before the argument.
During the dispute, one of them grabbed a grenade and threw it at his roommate, leading to the explosion in the hostel.
“Fortunately, no one was injured — the 42-year-old man managed to hide in a nearby room,” the police reported.
The 27-year-old suspect was detained. He has been charged with attempted murder, which could result in 15 years of imprisonment.
It has also been reported about another incident in Khmelnytskyi, where a man tried to propose to his beloved dramatically but accidentally caused an explosion in the apartment using a grenade. The court has considered the case of illegal handling of ammunition, emphasizing its dangers in civilian conditions.
The lawyer presented the circumstances of the case, which the court took into account, imposing a minimal penalty according to the law.
These events highlight the serious risks associated with careless handling of dangerous items, even in everyday life. Explosions caused by the use of grenades in peaceful conditions raise alarm and pose questions about safety in society.
