Warm April Arrives, but Forecasters Warn of Fog and Avalanche Risks.
Ukraine’s April Weather Outlook
According to TSN.ua: April is set to bring warmer temperatures across Ukraine, but meteorologists caution that thick fog, potential flooding, and avalanche threats in mountainous areas could pose challenges. Early in the month, temperatures will range from +10°C to +16°C nationwide. In the Kyiv region, nighttime lows will hover between +5°C and +10°C, while daytime highs will reach +13°C to +18°C. The coldest conditions will grip western regions and the highlands of the Carpathians, where temperatures may drop to zero.
On April 1, most of Ukraine will see periodic rain, with the exception of Crimea. The Cherkasy region is also forecast to experience rain from April 1 through April 3. Meanwhile, water levels in the Desna, Snow, and Seim rivers will continue to rise. In the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia, a significant avalanche hazard remains at level three, posing a safety risk to local populations.
- In the Lviv region, overnight temperatures will range from -1°C to +4°C, with daytime highs reaching up to +8°C.
- In Odesa and the surrounding region, nighttime lows will vary from +4°C to +9°C, while daytime temperatures will climb to between +12°C and +17°C.
- In Kharkiv, expect overnight lows of +5°C to +10°C, and daytime highs of up to +17°C.
'The beautiful Prince April will arrive with pleasant, comfortable warmth,' says forecaster Natalka Didenko.
Vitaliy Postryhan adds that 'pressure will rise, clouds will clear, and the weather will finally stabilize under the influence of the Azores anticyclone.' Ukrainians are urged to stay cautious and account for potential hazards arising from these weather shifts.
