Lukashenko will bring Belarusian potatoes to the SCO summit
Alexander Lukashenko decided to please his colleagues - the presidents of Russia and China - with natural Belarusian potatoes. He will personally deliver 'neatly packed' tubers to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which will take place in China.“Once President Putin asked me: 'Give me some Belarusian potatoes'. There wasn't an opportunity back then. But now I will bring him fresh ones,” Lukashenko confessed.Lukashenko also prepared a batch of potatoes for Chinese President Xi Jinping. The SCO summit is scheduled to be held in the Chinese city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, where more than 20 heads of state will participate. It is expected that during this event, Lukashenko will meet with Vladimir Putin. Earlier, Lukashenko suggested lifting sanctions, congratulated Donald Trump, and expressed a desire to organize a meeting between Putin and Zelensky in Minsk. At the same time, farmers in Poland are facing a collapse in potato prices, leading to significant losses in the sector. Amid the events related to the SCO summit, Lukashenko's initiative to supply potatoes appears to be an attempt to demonstrate brotherhood and cooperation between states. At the same time, the current situation in Poland reflects the difficulties faced by farmers amid global economic challenges.
