Situation with Electricity Supply in Lviv

According to ТСН: A significant drop in voltage has been recorded in the contact network in Lviv due to strikes by the Russian Federation. Some traction substations were switched off as an emergency measure, resulting in temporary power outages in certain areas, and electric transport has stopped.

Lviv Electric Transport was forced to remove part of the trams and trolleybuses from the routes, amounting to about 20% of the rolling stock from each direction.

"The voltage in the network of 'Lviv Electric Transport' is currently insufficient for full operation, so we are temporarily removing about 20% of the transport from the lines. We are gradually restoring the operation of the substations and starting the movement, but this will take time," said the company's director Vasyl Petsukh.

Lviv also recorded at least 33 reports of people being trapped in elevators due to emergency power outages.

"The number of reports is increasing, so the city has increased the number of emergency crews that rescue people from elevator cabins," the Lviv City Council stated.

Residents are urged to avoid using elevators during emergency power outages or in conditions of air alerts.

It has also become known that emergency power outages have been introduced across Ukraine due to the consequences of Russian attacks.

"Due to a massive missile-drone attack on the energy system, emergency power outages are currently applied in most regions of Ukraine. The previously published hourly disconnection schedules by the regional energy companies are currently not in effect," NЕК 'Ukrenergo' emphasized in a statement.

The situation with electricity supply in Lviv reflects a complex nationwide problem caused by the attack on the energy system. During wartime, it is important to monitor updates and adhere to safety measures to avoid dangerous situations related to the use of elevator cabins or electric transport. Currently, energy companies are actively working to restore stability in energy supply, but sometimes this requires more time and effort. Further changes in the disconnection schedules will be communicated to the public accordingly.
