Massive Nighttime Drone Strike Hits Ukraine on March 28 — Latest Updates
According to TSN.ua: On March 28, 2023, Russian forces unleashed a large-scale drone attack on the city of Odesa, killing two people and injuring 11 others, among them a child. The assault involved more than 60 unmanned aerial vehicles, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.
At the time of the strike, 80 individuals were inside a maternity hospital, including 33 medical staff members. Residential buildings, the maternity ward, a television center, and key infrastructure sites were all hit. Emergency crews evacuated 81 people from the affected area.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the attack, stating: 'This bombardment had no military purpose whatsoever—it was deliberately aimed at civilians.'
In addition to Odesa, Russian forces also targeted the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, underscoring the wide scope of the aggression. This nighttime offensive further highlights the perilous conditions in Ukraine and the ongoing threats faced by the civilian population.
This incident is part of the broader conflict in Ukraine, where non-military sites continue to be hit by military strikes. The increasing use of drones in combat reflects a shift in Russian military tactics, raising the risk of further escalation. Such attacks have drawn international concern and reinforce the urgent need for action against violence targeting civilians.
