Russian Strike on Kyiv on June 2

According to Novyny.live: On the night of June 2, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault on Kyiv using missiles and drones. The attack resulted in four fatalities and 58 injuries, with 40 people hospitalized, including two children. The consequences were felt across multiple districts of the Ukrainian capital.

Damage was reported in the following areas:

  • Darnytskyi
  • Obolonskyi
  • Shevchenkivskyi
  • Svyatoshynskyi
  • Podilskyi
  • Holosiivskyi
  • Solomianskyi

In the Darnytskyi district, debris from drones ignited a fire at a gas station. In Obolonskyi, fragments landed near kindergartens and on the grounds of an unfinished construction project, raising serious concerns among local residents.

A non-residential three-story building caught fire in Shevchenkivskyi district, and a 24-story residential building was also damaged. In Svyatoshynskyi, a fire broke out on the first floor of a five-story residential building. Podilskyi district suffered a repeated missile strike that partially destroyed a nine-story residential building. In Holosiivskyi, the second and third floors of a clinic were demolished, while in Solomianskyi, debris struck the upper floors of a 15-story residential building.

Emergency services are on the scene addressing the aftermath, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The situation remains dire, and local authorities urge residents to follow safety precautions and stay vigilant.

This attack is part of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, now stretching over a year. Such strikes on civilian infrastructure cause severe humanitarian consequences and endanger the safety of ordinary people. Kyiv officials continue to call on residents to adhere to safety measures, as the situation is tense and could change at any moment.
