Russia Launches Large-Scale Assaults Across Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: On March 18, 2023, Russia carried out a series of widespread attacks on Ukrainian territory, employing a variety of weaponry. Civilian infrastructure, including territorial recruitment centers, was hit, resulting in casualties among the population.
In Sumy, a hostile drone struck the administrative building of a territorial recruitment center (TCC), injuring a 16-year-old boy. In the Kharkiv region, a 54-year-old man was killed in the attack. Authorities reported that Kharkiv was targeted with 9 guided aerial bombs and 5 Geran-2-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
The assaults extended beyond these areas. In Chernihiv Oblast, a railway facility came under attack, raising alarm among local residents. Odesa Oblast also suffered a strike that damaged a critical infrastructure site. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, over 10 attacks were recorded in the Nikopol district.
Injuries and Local Officials' Statements
Additionally, in the Kramatorsk district, 8 people were wounded, including two children aged 5 and 14. Vadym Filashkin, a local government representative, confirmed that
“8 people were injured in overnight strikes on Kramatorsk. Among the wounded are two children aged 5 and 14.”
Oleksandr Bondarenko commented on the situation, stating that
“Russia's attacks on territorial recruitment centers are not accidental but a deliberate shift in the enemy's tactics.”These actions clearly indicate an escalation of the conflict and new threats to Ukraine's civilian population.
As a result, the situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains tense, with continuous shelling of residential areas and power grids, causing concern among residents and local authorities.
These latest attacks occur against the backdrop of a prolonged military conflict that has been ongoing for several years. The threat to civilians is increasing as strikes become more targeted, particularly against mobilization-related facilities. This reflects a change in the aggressor's strategy and underscores the need for heightened preparedness and civilian protection.
