Air Raid Alert Issued Across Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: A widespread air raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine on March 28 following the takeoff of a Russian MiG-31K fighter jet, signaling a potential launch of Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a missile threat, urging civilians to leave open areas and seek shelter immediately.

During the incident, two Kinzhal missiles were observed flying over Zhytomyr toward Starokostiantyniv in the Khmelnytskyi region. At 9:11 PM local time, another MiG-31K was recorded taking off, while three additional fighter jets from the Savasleyka airbase were already airborne. This heightened tensions across the region, confirming the seriousness of the threat.

Drone Movements and Attack Aftermath

As of 9:10 PM, five Shahed drones were tracked moving from Sumy Oblast toward Poltava Oblast. Additional drone activity was reported as follows:

  • One Shahed from Sumy Oblast to Chernihiv Oblast (Pryluky district),
  • One from Poltava Oblast to Cherkasy Oblast (Zolotonosha district),
  • One drone heading toward Sumy city.

Other Shahed drones were also detected in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv Oblast, the Oleksandriia district of Kirovohrad Oblast, and the northern part of Rivne Oblast.

Following a nighttime attack on Odesa on March 28, the number of casualties rose to 16, with two people confirmed dead. These events underscore the precarious security situation in the region and the persistent threat posed by Russia.

Ukraine remains on high alert amid ongoing Russian military aggression. Airstrikes and the use of precision-guided missiles continue to endanger civilians, raising concerns even in areas once considered relatively safe. The increasing frequency of drone incursions and missile attacks signals an escalation in the conflict, demanding heightened vigilance and readiness from Ukrainian defense forces.
