Monokate Competes in Ukraine's Eurovision 2026 Selection

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian singer Monokate has entered the national selection for Eurovision 2026 with her track 'TYT'. This performance marks a significant career milestone, coming directly after her debut at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in the Netherlands, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The Eurovision Song Contest serves as a major platform for European artists seeking international exposure.

Her performance at Eurosonic Noorderslag was her first major international showcase since launching her solo career, highlighting the event's importance for her artistic growth. She was joined on stage by Pieter Peirsman, the guitarist from the renowned Belgian band Hooverphonic.

It should be noted that Monokate, whose real name is Kateryna Pavlenko, could not attend the official draw for the national selection. Nevertheless, her participation remains a notable event, demonstrating her ambition to represent Ukrainian culture on a global stage.

“What I do outside of Ukraine has long ceased to be just tours or separate performances for me.”
