Attack on military personnel in Lviv: driver opened fire on the TCC car.
According to ТСН: In the outskirts of Lviv, in the village of Rudne, there was an armed confrontation. An unknown man attacked servicemen.
The police of Lviv region reported that the incident occurred around 10:00 at the intersection of Lesia Ukrainka and Heavenly Hundred streets. The driver of a Volkswagen Passat fired several shots at a Volkswagen Transporter, then fled the scene.
According to law enforcement, no one was injured as a result of the shooting, but the minibus of the servicemen, who were conducting notification measures, sustained technical damage.
Legal consequences
Investigators opened a criminal proceeding under part 4 of article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of three to seven years.
The police are taking measures to establish the whereabouts and arrest the offender.
Previous incidents
Recall that on January 11, an attack occurred on a TCC serviceman during mobilization measures in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv. A local resident, during a document check near one of the shopping centers, attacked a soldier with a knife, inflicting injuries to his abdomen.
After the attack, the offender fled in a minibus, and the injured serviceman was hospitalized. Law enforcement quickly located and detained the attacker, who was informed of suspicion under part 3 of article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violence against a public official performing public duty.
These incidents highlight the growing level of aggression against servicemen in Ukraine, which is a troubling signal for society. The police are working to identify the causes of such attacks and prevent similar situations in the future.
