Massive Attack on Odesa: The City Has Lost Electricity, Water, and Heating.
According to ТСН: On the night from Friday to Saturday, Odesa suffered one of the most significant attacks since the beginning of the war. The enemy struck at the energy infrastructure, trying to plunge the city into darkness and cold.
According to the head of the Odesa Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, four residents were injured as a result of the shelling.
Residential buildings were damaged, one of which is located in the very center of the city – its historic district. Most parts of the city are without electricity, heating, and water.
Waiting for the Energy Workers' Verdict
During a briefing on mitigating the aftermath of the situation, Lysak stressed the direct dependence of heating supply on the restoration of electricity.
“While the inspection is ongoing, the results will come a little later. Then we will understand when heat, light, and water will appear... As for heating, we will be dependent in this case on our energy workers. When they can turn on the electricity, then we will be able to turn on the heating. I think that closer to the end of today we will have some clarity about how we will move forward,” said the head of the Military Administration.
Water and Electricity Situation
According to information from DTEK Odesa Electric Networks, energy workers managed to find a technical solution for connecting 40 thousand subscribers.
Regarding water supply, alternative sources have been organized in the city:
16 drinking water fountains are operational (working hours extended until 10:00 PM).
16 points of distribution of technical water have been set up.
Hospitals are fully supplied with generators and water.
Additionally, there are 428 Points of Invincibility in the city where citizens can warm up and charge their gadgets while utilities are working in an intensified round-the-clock mode.
It is worth noting that explosions were again heard in the Odesa region in the morning. Throughout the night, Russian forces attacked Odesa and the region using missiles and drones.
The situation in Odesa remains tense. Local authorities are actively working on restoring electricity supply and water supply. Citizens hope for a quick resolution of issues with energy workers to restore normal living conditions in the city. In wartime conditions, it is important to support each other and be ready for any challenges.
