From January 1, 2026: the state will increase the child birth assistance to 50 thousand hryvnias.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, starting from January 1, 2026, the state has raised the amount of assistance for the birth of a child to 50 thousand hryvnias.
With the new conditions, for children born after this date, the one-time state assistance at birth will be 50 thousand hryvnias. The cost of the 'Baby Package' has also been increased - it now costs 8,451 hryvnias.
Procedure for receiving assistance
One of the parents or the legal guardian of the child can submit an application for assistance. This can be done online through the 'DiiA' app or in person by visiting the nearest office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
If the child is born abroad, official birth documents issued by the competent authorities of the hosting country must be submitted, in compliance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, to qualify for payments.
Assistance for children born before 2026
For children born before January 1, 2026, the conditions remain unchanged. The total amount of assistance is 41,280 hryvnias, of which 10,320 hryvnias are paid out upfront, and the remaining amount is paid monthly over three years.
The Ministry also confirmed that for children who are fully supported by the state, the assistance funds are credited to a deposit account and are kept until they reach adulthood.
'eMaljatko' service
The 'eMaljatko' service continues to operate in Ukraine, which has already been used by about 600 thousand families. This service allows filing up to seven state services related to the birth of a child with one electronic request.
It was previously reported that a separate category of people will be forced to return money for children.
Thus, the new changes in the child birth assistance program indicate the government's intention to support young families. The increase in the amount of payments, as well as the improvement of service accessibility through electronic services, will undoubtedly make the process of receiving assistance easier and more convenient.
This initiative can positively impact the demographic situation in the country, encouraging parents to give birth during times of economic challenges.
