Russian drones destroyed a farm in Chernihiv region: family immediately lost their business.

According to ТСН: On the night of December 16, five Russian drones attacked a farm in the Chernihiv region, destroying the cattle shed.

The farmer Natalia and her family were at home when the explosion occurred in the village of Zhernivka. They run the farm by themselves, as they cannot afford to hire workers.

After the first explosions, her husband and son-in-law rushed to the farm to check what happened. It might have prevented them.

“The last hit was when my husband and son-in-law were in the barn. They heard the sound of the drone, ran out of the barn — and there was an explosion. My husband fell behind the car, and my son-in-law was thrown into the field. The car is full of holes,” recalls the farmer.

When Natalia ran to the farm, the cattle shed was already on fire. Upon opening the gates, the livestock began to flee.

“I approached the barn, and a cow came towards me without eyes…,” the woman says with tears in her eyes.

At the scene of the tragedy, dead animals were found. Natalia noted that three cows died, but it is difficult to determine the exact number of casualties, as some animals were still on the spot while others roamed nearby.

The farmer does not know what happened to the cows that escaped from the burning shed, and she suspects that among them there may be injured animals.

The destroyed cattle shed is being cleared of debris, among the remnants of drones. Agricultural machinery was also damaged; one tractor caught fire.

Natalia and her family have been working on the farm since 2005 when they bought property shares from local residents and turned abandoned barns into suitable places for keeping animals. They kept approximately 69 heads of cattle, but it is currently unknown how many of them survived.

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine responded to the question of whether Russia is preparing a new attack on Chernihiv region.

This tragedy underscores the risks faced by Ukrainian farmers in wartime. The attack on the farm not only caused property damage but also impacted the life and well-being of the family that depends on livestock. The danger of such attacks on agricultural facilities threatens the food security of the region.
