Russian Strikes on Odesa Region: Residents Warned About Long Power Outages.
According to ТСН: As a result of the Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, residents of the Odesa region should prepare for prolonged power outages — within three to four shifts.
The chief research officer of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Hennadiy Ryabtsev, reported that not all consumers in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions have access to electricity as energy workers continue restoration efforts.
Power Outages
Ryabtsev noted:
“It is unlikely to expect short outages, less than three to four shifts. The only solution is to increase the capacity of small energy facilities in Odesa and connect them to the united energy system of other regions.”
The expert also emphasized that the current outages do not affect the operation of electrical networks in other regions and are not blackouts. These are controlled — emergency or urgent — outages as directed by dispatchers.
He explained:
“These outages occur where energy workers know exactly what is damaged and how to restore supply. A blackout is when everything fails, and restoring energy supply is impossible.”
Moreover, earlier Hennadiy Ryabtsev explained why power outage schedules may change several times a day.
Thus, the situation with electricity supply in the Odesa region remains tense, and residents should be prepared for possible prolonged outages. Energy workers are working on restoring supply, but difficulties in the energy system will require time and effort to overcome. The situation is controlled but requires attention and caution from consumers.
