Odesa athletes showed brilliant results at the World Championship in Thai boxing.
Ukrainian youth became world champions in Thai boxing
From September 16 to 20, the youth World Championship in Thai boxing Muay Thai is being held in Bangkok (Kingdom of Thailand). The competition attracted more than 3.5 thousand participants, uniting 93 federations. This was reported by the Odesa city council.
The Ukrainian national team took first place in the overall team ranking.
Odesa Thai boxers performed as part of the national youth team and showed high results.
Thus, the world champions were: Nikita Kuts (juniors, 54 kg, coaches – Volodymyr Pishenin, Andriy Vakharash), Ivan Trachov and Radomir Dykun (boys, 36 kg and 44 kg respectively, coach – Maksym Neledva).
Silver medals were won by: Anastasia Yevtushenko (traditional dance "wai kru", coach – Pavlo Yevtushenko), Elizaveta Velikova (girls, 48 kg) and Kyrylo Berezovsky (boys, 38 kg), who were trained by coaches Volodymyr Pishenin and Andriy Vakharash, as well as Maksym Holovenko (boys, 40 kg, coach – Maksym Neledva).
Ivan Rasputny twice became a bronze medalist (boys, 32 kg, traditional dance "Wai Kru", coach – Liliya Shapoval, the athlete was prepared for the performance in "Wai Kru" by Iryna Ladynenko).
“As the founder of the federation of Thai boxing Ukraine Muay Thai and its honorary president, I am extremely pleased that our trainees are achieving such success. Odesa is proud of your results. You are an example of the resilience of Ukrainians, which is already known all over the world, as well as the mastery that inspires all of us. I wish you further victories and achievements. Congratulations!” – congratulated the Ukrainian athletes Hennadiy Trukhanov.
