Ukrainians over 60 will receive a new pension increase in December: Details about the payments.

According to ТСН: In December this year, Ukrainians who have reached the age of 60 will receive additional pension payments and can benefit from a range of social programs. This includes both automatic age supplements and one-time payments, for which an application must be submitted.

This was reported by lawyer Mychailo Vulakh.

Pension Payment Increase

The changes affect those who celebrate their birthdays in December:

• at 70 years — +300 UAH;

• at 75 years — +456 UAH;

• at 80 years — +570 UAH.

Those who transition from one age group to another receive only the difference. For instance, the supplement when transitioning from 70 to 75 years is not 456 UAH, but 156 UAH.

One-Time Payment of 1000 Hryvnias

There is also a program for one-time payments of 1000 UAH. This assistance can only be received by those who apply by December 24. Last year, only 14 million Ukrainians out of nearly 30 million received the funds due to a lack of information about the program.

The government plans to allocate resources for about 10 million payments, so it is likely that some citizens will not be able to submit their applications in time.

Payment of 6500 Hryvnias

Another type of assistance is a payment of 6500 UAH under the 'Winter Support' program. Only pensioners classified as needing care and living alone can receive this amount.

The status is not automatically granted and must be applied for through social protection authorities. The following is required:

• Tax identification number;

• Passport;

• Pension certificate;

• Household certificate;

• Expert opinion from a social inspector regarding the need for care.

A social worker must visit the applicant and assess their living conditions. The process takes 10-20 days, so time is running out — the status must be obtained by December 24.

Monthly Assistance for Single Pensioners

Once the status is obtained, the pensioner may be eligible for monthly assistance amounting to 40% of the minimum subsistence level:

1. 944 UAH in 2025;

2. 1,038 UAH — starting January 1, 2026 (if the budget is approved).

As a reminder: Previously, it was reported that pensioners would receive a lower pension next year.

Thus, the new payments and programs can significantly ease the financial situation of pensioners, especially in winter. It is important for citizens to submit their applications on time and receive the payments they are entitled to, taking into account the deadlines.
