According to ТСН: In December this year, a number of Ukrainian pensioners will receive a pension recalculation.

According to the Pension Fund, the changes will affect those who will reach the age of 65, 70, 75, and 80 years and older in December, as well as a certain category of working pensioners.

Minimum pension for 65-year-olds

Non-working pensioners celebrating their 65th birthday can expect a recalculation if they have the required insurance experience:

  • Men: 35 years of insurance experience.

  • Women: 30 years of insurance experience.

For this category of pensioners, the pension amount should not be less than 40% of the minimum wage, which currently amounts to 3200 hryvnias. If the pension already exceeds this amount, no additional payment will be assigned.

Age supplements: from 300 to 570 hryvnias

Pensioners who turn 70 years or older in December will automatically receive supplements, regardless of the size of their pension:

The supplement will be credited from the next day after the birthday. There is no need to apply.

Recalculation for working pensioners

In December, officially working pensioners who did not receive an indexation of payments in April due to lack of grounds may also increase their pensions.

As noted in the explanations of the Ministry of Social Policy, indexation for working pensioners is carried out no earlier than two years after the previous recalculation (usually, from April 1).

It is important: if a pensioner received a pension, say, in November 2023, and continues to work, they may not have to wait until April 2026.

'In December 2025, already apply to the Ministry of Social Policy department at the place of residence for an early pension recalculation, as two years have already passed.'

The pension recalculation is obliged to be conducted and increased based on two years of insurance experience, even if the current salary of the pensioner is lower than that on which the pension was calculated.

Thus, new opportunities for improving their financial situation are opening up for Ukrainian pensioners. It is important to consider that not everyone will receive supplements, as they depend on at least two conditions: age and work experience. Working pensioners should be attentive and watch for the possibility of recalculating their payments, as it may significantly affect their well-being in the future.
