April Pension Recalculation for Working Retirees: Who Must Submit an Application.
Ukraine's 2026 Pension Recalculation: What You Need to Know
According to TSN.ua: In April 2026, Ukraine will conduct its annual pension recalculation for retirees who remain employed. Some individuals will need to file a formal request to qualify for this adjustment. Specifically, as of March 1, 2026, retirees must have accumulated 24 months of insurance coverage to be eligible for an automatic recalculation.
Those with less than 24 months of service can still receive a recalculation, provided that at least two years have passed since their last adjustment. This provision allows a broader group of pensioners to take advantage of updated payment amounts.
One-Time Payment for Pensioners
Additionally, in April, a portion of citizens will receive a one-time payment of 1,500 UAH. Eligibility for this benefit applies to individuals who, as of April 1, have been granted a pension or state social benefits, provided the total amount does not exceed 25,950 UAH.
As a result, the April 2026 pension recalculation marks a significant milestone for many Ukrainians who continue working after retirement. It is crucial for retirees who lack the required insurance record to be aware that they may still qualify for a payment review after two years from their last recalculation.
This regular adjustment of pension payments in Ukraine serves as a key mechanism to support retirees' financial well-being, particularly for those still in the workforce. Given ongoing economic shifts and inflationary pressures, periodic updates to pension amounts help ensure financial stability for older citizens. The one-time 1,500 UAH supplement can also provide meaningful relief for those receiving smaller social payments.
