Termination of Employment: How to Preserve Pension Experience from 2026.
According to ТСН: Ukrainians planning to resign from their jobs can preserve their insurance experience by making voluntary pension contributions.
Cost of Pension Contribution in 2026
The Pension Fund explained the amount that needs to be paid in 2026. From January 1, 2026, the minimum wage will be 8,647 hryvnias, and all social contributions will be calculated based on this figure. The minimum insurance payment to the pension system will amount to 1,902 hryvnias and 34 kopecks, which will be 22% of the minimum wage.
Paying this amount ensures that the month will be fully credited to the insurance experience. If less is paid, the period may be credited partially or not counted at all.
The Importance of Contributions for Preserving Pension Rights
The Pension Fund emphasizes that this is especially important for those who resign at their own initiative, take a break from work, or work unofficially but want to preserve their pension rights. The minimum contribution is essentially a fee for preserving experience, without which problems may arise in the future when applying for a pension.
Citizens who have already concluded a contract for voluntary participation in pension insurance will not need to reapply. All existing contracts are automatically extended until December 31, 2026.
Thus, making voluntary contributions will be a guarantee for preserving pension rights for those planning to change jobs or engage in other activities. This is an important step for ensuring financial stability in retirement and avoiding potential problems in the future.
