Shahed hits car on bridge over Dniester: mother dies covering her daughter

According to ТСН: A tragic event that led to the death of 43-year-old Inna Vlaeva occurred near the village of Mayaki. The woman was returning home to Odessa with her three children when a Russian Shahed drone struck their car on the bridge over the Dniester.

In the last few days, the family had been staying at their grandmother's house in the village of Kamchik, as there was no electricity in Odessa due to previous shelling.

“They were informed that their area had returned to electricity. So Inna and the kids decided to take a trip there to see what was happening. They were just headed over the bridge back home to Odessa,” said a local resident.

At the wheel of the car was 20-year-old eldest daughter Vlada. Her mother was sitting next to her in the passenger seat, while 16-year-old Pavlo and 5-year-old daughter were in the back seat. The drone hit the car from Inna's side, and she effectively absorbed the entire impact, covering her older daughter.

Inna Vlaeva sustained serious injuries and died in the hospital. The three children were hospitalized with injuries and stress.

In the village of Kamchik, where the deceased's husband is from, Inna is remembered as a hardworking and friendly woman. Friends and acquaintances claim she was “very smart, capable, and decent.” The school community has started fundraising to support the family.

It should be noted that in the Odessa region, an enemy drone hit a private car that was passing over the bridge. The mother sustained severe injuries and unfortunately died in the ambulance. Her three children were taken to the hospital with bodily injuries and stress.

It is worth noting that the Odessa–Reni highway has been temporarily closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic on this section of the road is currently completely halted.

This terrible event once again draws attention to the dangers posed by drones during the war. The situation in the Odessa region remains tense, and local residents continue to suffer from the consequences of aggression. Active support for affected families is ongoing, but the long-term effects of trauma and loss remain a significant challenge for the community.
