Rocket strike on Izium, visit of the Director General of the IAEA to Ukraine. Main news from February 4.
The Russian army launched a rocket strike on the city of Izium, resulting in 55 injuries and five deaths. Most of the injured are employees of various institutions. As a result of the shelling, many apartments and administrative buildings, including the city council building, were damaged. The President of Ukraine reported this.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, arrived in Ukraine for the 11th Time. He inspected the distribution substation to assess the consequences of attacks on the energy system. The Director General warns that such attacks can have serious consequences and pose a threat to safety.
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has decided to impose new sanctions against the enemies of the country. The lists of persons who will be sanctioned will be published soon. President Zelensky announced the effectiveness of changing the leadership of the State Tax Service and the State Financial Monitoring Service.
Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov denied information about the withdrawal of North Korean troops from the front line. He stated that currently, approximately eight thousand North Korean soldiers are at the forefront in the Kursk region. He emphasized that although the activity of these troops has somewhat decreased, this could be a temporary phenomenon.
Ukraine ratified a defense agreement with Great Britain for 2 billion pounds. According to this agreement, Great Britain provides loans for the purchase of defense goods and services, including air defense systems, missiles for air defense, and repair bases for military equipment.
