Trust Levels in Ukraine’s President

According to TSN.ua: In March 2026, trust in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reached 62%, according to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted from March 1 to 8. During the same period, 32% of respondents expressed distrust in the president. These figures indicate a slight improvement in public sentiment toward the head of state compared to earlier months.

By late January 2026, trust in Zelenskyy stood at 61%, with distrust at 33%. Over the course of two months, the share of those who trust the president increased, while the percentage of those who do not dropped by one point. The survey included 1,003 respondents aged 18 and older, providing a reliable snapshot of broader societal attitudes toward the president.

Drivers Behind the Trust Increase

The results may reflect positive shifts in how Ukrainians perceive Zelenskyy’s performance in office. Still, despite the uptick in trust, a sizable portion of the population remains skeptical of his policies. This keeps the political landscape fluid and dynamic.

Several factors could explain the rise in presidential approval, including:

  • successful decisions in economic policy
  • social policy initiatives
  • foreign policy moves

At the same time, with significant distrust persisting, the president needs to focus on engaging with citizens and tackling pressing issues to maintain positive momentum in public perception. This also shows that Ukrainian society continues to be critically minded and closely monitors the government’s actions.
