Police Station in Shostka Targeted by Drones
According to TSN.ua: On March 11, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a district police department in Shostka, located in the Sumy region. The strike completely destroyed the police administration building and left 22 police officers wounded. This incident underscores the ongoing military aggression and the persistent threat to civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Such attacks on law enforcement facilities represent a dangerous escalation in targeting non-military structures.
Continued Shelling in Nikopol
Separately, the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region continues to endure regular shelling, causing significant distress among local residents. Ihor Klymenko, head of the National Police of Ukraine, highlighted the proximity of the threat, stating:
“The launch site for these UAVs is less than 10 kilometers away.”
He further reported disturbing intelligence, noting:
“We have information that Russians are also training there on how to launch drones from light vehicles to target civilian populations.”
These developments point to a worsening security situation and new challenges for the region. The events in Shostka and Nikopol illustrate the growing risks for Ukrainian civilians as the conflict persists. Attacks on critical infrastructure like police stations signal evolving tactics by Russian forces. Given the constant bombardment of Nikopol, ensuring the safety and protection of local residents has become an even more urgent priority.
