Russia Targets Ukrainian Supply Lines Across the Siverskyi Donets with a New Battlefield Approach.
Occupiers' Strategy
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces are attempting to sever the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the Siverskyi Donets River, employing guided aerial bombs (KABs) and attack drones. The enemy's primary goal is to infiltrate with small units and terrorize the cities of Sloviansk, Lyman, and Kramatorsk, while deliberately avoiding direct ground engagements.
According to Dmytro Yaroshenko, commander of the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade, the adversary suffered severe losses during a recent breakthrough attempt.
“Only 30% managed to withdraw,”Yaroshenko reported, highlighting the effectiveness of Ukrainian defenses in this sector. The interceptor crews of the 117th Brigade operate around the clock, which has helped reduce enemy activity significantly.
Drones Over Ukrainian Cities
Russian drones, including the "Zala" and "Molniya" models, are striking civilian infrastructure, inflicting damage on cities still under Ukrainian control. This underscores the aggressor’s intent to maximize harm not only to military targets but also to the civilian population.
In response to these threats, the 117th Brigade is actively destroying enemy drones, such as the "Shahed," "Gerbera," and "Molniya."
“This is a war of drones against drones. Our goal is to ensure that every Russian aircraft reaches the ground only as scrap metal,”stated military journalist "Mobil."
As a result, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their defensive lines and counter Russian attempts to disrupt logistics across the Siverskyi Donets. In the context of modern warfare, coordination between combat units and the use of cutting-edge technology—particularly drones—has become a critical factor in the fight for territorial control.
The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense, and Russian military actions aimed at destabilizing the region indicate the conflict is far from over. The deployment of drones and other advanced technologies is reshaping the nature of combat, while Ukraine’s effective defense demonstrates its ability to adapt to new challenges. A key aspect of this struggle is not only military strategy but also the protection of civilians, highlighting the humanitarian dimension of the war.
