Russia changes its drone strike approach

According to TSN.ua: Moscow is adjusting how it deploys attack drones, yet Ukraine’s air defense systems continue to intercept them effectively. In the latest wave, 289 unmanned aerial vehicles—mostly Shahed-type—were launched. As of 9:00 AM, Ukrainian forces had destroyed 267 of them, though the assault was still ongoing. Air Force Command spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat confirmed that Ukraine’s air defenses are maintaining their traditionally high success rate. This marks a notable evolution in Russian tactics, likely aimed at overwhelming Ukrainian defenses through sheer volume.

Conflict intensifies

Meanwhile, on March 31, power outages were reported across the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions. These disruptions reflect a broader escalation, as Russian forces try to adapt to battlefield conditions. In response, Ukraine is steadily upgrading its air defense systems to counter emerging threats. The shift in Russia’s drone warfare strategy suggests its military command is seeking greater operational efficiency, learning from previous setbacks against Ukrainian air defenses.

Targeting critical infrastructure like electricity grids highlights a deliberate effort to maximize civilian impact and undermine morale. This underscores the urgent need for continued international support to bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities and protect its essential infrastructure from further attacks.
