Russians attacked DTEK thermal power plants again: what is known about the consequences of the shelling

According to ТСН: On December 23, the Russian army once again attacked DTEK thermal power plants in Ukraine.

The company reported this on its Telegram channel. As a result of this attack, equipment at the thermal power plants was damaged.

This is the seventh mass attack on DTEK thermal power plants since October. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company's thermal power plants have been attacked more than 210 times. As a result of enemy shelling, 59 energy workers were injured, of which four died.

Impact on the energy system

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted that as a result of the mass attack on December 23, the most significant damage was inflicted on energy facilities in western regions of Ukraine. This prompted the introduction of emergency blackout schedules across the country. All services and regional administrations are currently working in an enhanced mode, using all available resources for the fastest possible restoration of electricity supply to homes.

These attacks highlight the vulnerability of Ukraine's energy infrastructure in wartime. Constant shelling significantly complicates the work of energy workers and negatively affects the living conditions of the population. Authorities urge citizens to understand the situation and follow recommendations for energy saving.
