Russia attacked energy infrastructure at night: consumers left without electricity in four regions

According to ТСН: On the night of December 19 to 20, Russian troops again targeted the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Systems for generation, distribution, and transmission of electricity came under fire.

According to the Ministry of Energy, electricity consumers in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donetsk, and Odesa regions were left without power in the morning after the attacks. 'The enemy also once again targeted the employees of one of the thermal power plants on the border. Fortunately, there are no casualties,' the ministry reported.

Emergency restoration work

Emergency restoration work is ongoing throughout Ukraine. Energy workers are operating in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to disconnected consumers as quickly as possible. However, due to a power deficit in the system, power outage schedules (GPC) are being implemented today in all regions of Ukraine. Power limitation schedules for industrial facilities are also ongoing.

Transport issues

In the Odesa region, traffic on the Odesa–Reni highway has been temporarily suspended due to the Russian shelling of an infrastructure facility near the settlement of Maiaky, significantly complicating access to several border crossing points.

This attack once again confirms the constant threat posed by Russian aggression. The country's energy sector continues to suffer due to hostilities, and restoring electricity supply is becoming an increasingly critical task for energy workers. Power outages and transport issues create additional difficulties for residents of the affected regions who continue to need support and a return to normal life.
