NABU warns of a new scheme of fraudsters: fake summons for interrogation.
According to ТСН: Ukrainians are warned about fraudsters who use the name of a government agency to send false emails. In particular, they send messages supposedly from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
The offenders send fake letters inviting people for interrogations in the status of suspects.
“We remind you, the official email of the bureau is [email protected],” the message from NABU states.
Not so long ago, a 79-year-old Kyiv resident was scammed with the scheme 'your relative is in trouble', forcing him to give away 15 thousand dollars. The police detained one of the participants in this scam and returned part of the funds.
It was also previously reported that in Kyiv, fraudsters deceived valuables worth 37.5 million hryvnias pretending to be a 'SBU courier'.
Fraud is becoming an increasingly vulnerable topic for many Ukrainians, especially in times of uncertainty. It is important to be cautious and verify information received electronically to avoid becoming a victim of such schemes. You should only contact official sources and avoid following suspicious links.
