Energy System of Ukraine in Crisis: Where Emergency Outages Are Taking Place Due to Frosts and Strikes.
According to ТСН: As of January 14, the situation in Ukraine's energy system remains extremely tense due to Russian strikes on energy facilities and the cold weather.
Difficult Situation in the Capital
According to Acting Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov, the worst situation is observed in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, where network restrictions are in place. The previously published schedules for hourly outages are currently not relevant.
“Returning to the projected schedules will occur after stabilizing the situation in the energy system. Emergency restoration work in the capital and Kyiv region continues around the clock, despite challenging weather conditions,”
Situation in Other Regions
Restrictions also continue in Odesa region, where emergency restoration work is being carried out after the attacks. In Dnipropetrovsk region, due to night shelling, 74 thousand consumers were left without electricity, and in the morning, over 40 thousand still had no electricity supply. Restoration is ongoing.
In addition, due to unfavorable weather conditions, 12 settlements in Chernihiv and Kyiv regions are without power.
Outage Schedules
In most regions of Ukraine, hourly outage schedules are in effect for all categories of consumers, as well as restrictions for industry.
“In several regions, emergency outages are forcibly applied due to equipment overload in conditions of high consumption during frosts,”
Critical State of the Energy System
The government notes that the situation in Kyiv's energy system remains difficult. In the capital, emergency outages are still being followed instead of planned ones, which is related to massive attacks from the Russian Federation and worsening weather conditions.
It is reminded that at night on January 13, the enemy delivered another massive strike on energy facilities, worsening the situation with electricity in Kyiv. General Director of YASNO Serhiy Kovalenko described the state of the capital's energy system as critical.
This situation highlights not only the challenges facing the energy system but also the importance of prompt responses to consumer needs. Authorities urge citizens to follow guidelines on energy consumption and to be prepared for possible prolonged outages. At the same time, efforts to restore infrastructure, which are critically important in winter conditions and military threats, continue.
