Solotvyno Border Crossing to Implement Temporary Vehicle Restrictions.
Temporary Restrictions at Solotvyno-Sighetu Marmatiei Border Crossing
According to TSN.ua: Vehicle traffic at the Solotvyno-Sighetu Marmatiei crossing between Ukraine and Romania will face temporary restrictions starting February 16th, due to reconstruction work on the bridge over the Tisza River. The limitations are scheduled to remain in effect until April 3rd. This key crossing point is a vital link in the regional transport network connecting Western Ukraine and Central Europe.
On weekdays, vehicle processing will be suspended from 09:00 to 16:00. However, pedestrian crossing will continue without any restrictions, ensuring local residents and tourists can still traverse the border on foot. These measures are intended to improve the crossing's infrastructure and overall road safety.
Infrastructure Modernization Program
The temporary traffic restrictions are part of a broader infrastructure modernization program aimed at enhancing border crossing conditions and boosting traffic safety. Maintaining pedestrian access is designed to minimize significant disruption for the communities and travelers who regularly use this route.
Importantly, such infrastructure improvements are expected to positively impact the overall level of cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and Romania.
