In Kyiv, a man is on trial for the death of a passerby due to a reprimand, facing up to 8 years in prison.

According to ТСН: In Kyiv, a man who fatally beat a passerby after being reproached has been sentenced to eight years in imprisonment.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office on Facebook.

Description of the event

With the support of prosecutors from the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office, the court announced a guilty verdict against a 30-year-old resident of the capital who inflicted serious bodily harm on a 49-year-old man, as a result of which the victim died in the hospital.

“By the verdict of the Dnipro District Court, the defendant was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to eight years of imprisonment,” the statement said.

Conflict and consequences

The prosecutor proved in court that in May 2025, a conflict arose on the street between the defendant and a passerby who made a remark about his rude behavior towards a girl.

The defendant hit the victim in the face several times, causing him to fall, after which he delivered several more kicks to the head. The next day, the victim died in the hospital from a closed head injury.

The defendant is currently in custody.
