Illegal kiosks are being dismantled in Kyiv’s Borshchahivka: what is happening at the market

According to ТСН: The dismantling of the market in Borshchahivka is ongoing in Kyiv. Videos have appeared on social media showing numerous agitated people and police. This is taking place on Zodchykh Street.

Witnesses report that local residents are trying to resist the dismantling and are entering into conflicts with law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the Kyiv City State Administration assures that this is not the demolition of the market, but the dismantling of illegally installed kiosks.

“This is not the demolition of the market. This is a planned dismantling of illegally installed kiosks for which the owners have no permit documents. Therefore, employees of the KP 'Kyivblagoustriy' and the police are currently working on site,” said Mykhailo Budilov, the director of the Department of Territorial Control of the city of Kyiv.

He clarified that approximately 50 kiosks are involved, which were installed earlier, and their owners had valid permits until June 1, 2025.

“The validity of the permit documents expired last summer. The kiosks are located in an area where numerous engineering communications are laid, and their placement is dangerous. Since the owners did not voluntarily remove the kiosks during this time, the dismantling by communal services was planned. The structures will be dismantled in the near future,” explains Mykhailo Budilov.

Thus, work continues in the capital to clear the area of illegally installed trading points. This step is part of the overall strategy of the city authorities to establish order in Kyiv and ensure safety in the city. The events unfolding evoke a lively reaction among local residents who seek to protect their rights, but the authorities' decision is based on the demands of legislation and safety. The situation around the dismantling remains tense and will develop further depending on the actions of both sides.
