Kyiv Braces for Warmer Weather, but Fog and Ice Pose Hazards.
Weather Forecast for Kyiv on January 28
According to TSN.ua: Meteorologists are warning Kyiv residents of hazardous conditions, including fog and icy glaze, despite a forecasted rise in temperatures for Sunday, January 28. This type of mixed winter weather is common in the region during seasonal transitions.
In Kyiv, overnight lows will dip to -3°C to -5°C, with daytime temperatures hovering around 0°C. The surrounding Kyiv region will see nighttime temperatures from -1°C to -6°C and daytime readings between -2°C and +3°C. Meanwhile, some other parts of the country could experience much colder conditions, with temperatures potentially falling to -20°C.
Caution Advised Amid Dangerous Conditions
Forecasters note that the current warming trend will be short-lived.
"With the arrival of warmer air, it's crucial to stay vigilant, as these weather conditions can lead to dangerous situations,"said meteorologist Natalia Holena.
The warning for fog and ice serves as a critical reminder for the capital's inhabitants to exercise caution while traveling. Fluctuating temperatures around the freezing point are notorious for creating treacherous black ice on roads and walkways.
