A man was arrested in Kyiv for murdering his grandmother: he also attempted to strangle his own mother.

A young man is suspected of murdering his grandmother and attempting to kill his mother in Kyiv

According to ТСН: A 28-year-old man in Kyiv has been charged with the murder of his 89-year-old grandmother and attempted murder of his mother.

According to the investigation, the suspect attacked his relatives in their apartment. He first hit his grandmother on the head several times with a kettle and then strangled her. After that, he began to hit his mother on the head and attempted to strangle her. She lost consciousness, and the suspect thought that the woman had died.

During the attack, the suspect's father was tied up. As explained by the arrested man, he did this so that his father would not interfere.

Some time after committing the act, the man fled, but law enforcement quickly found and arrested him at one of the railway stations in Kyiv.

The suspect's actions have been classified according to part 1 of article 115, part 2 of article 15, paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder and completed attempt of intentional murder).

The court, at the request of the prosecution, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days.

In addition, it is worth mentioning a tragedy that occurred earlier in the city of Ananyiv, Odesa region, where a woman and her minor daughter were murdered. The investigation established that the older son of the woman was involved in this crime.

This incident is a vivid example of the social problems faced by Ukrainian society. The surge of violence in families and brutal crimes raise public and law enforcement concerns, demanding effective measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
