A hooligan was detained in Kyiv: a drunk passenger sprayed gas in the metro.
According to ТСН: In the carriage of the blue line train of the Kyiv metro at the Taras Shevchenko metro station, an incident occurred: a young man got into a fight with a passenger, using a pepper spray canister in the process. The police quickly detained the offender.
According to the Kyiv police, the event happened around 22:20. It turned out that the offender is a 19-year-old resident of the capital who was under the influence of alcohol and behaved aggressively, bothering other passengers.
“When another passenger made a remark to him, the offender started a fight and sprayed irritant gas in the man's face.”
The police swiftly located and detained the hooligan with the help of criminal analysis specialists. He is currently being prepared for a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). This article provides for a penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment.
This incident has become another confirmation of the problem of aggressive behavior and hooliganism in public transport. Last time in Kyiv, a tragic incident occurred when a woman, as a result of a conflict, inflicted a knife wound on a 44-year-old man, which proved fatal for him.
